12 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout Cables
12 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout cables utilize the world’s most economical multifiber connector, the MPO. Originally developed to reduce the amount of splicing and individual connections, the MPO connector has since become the form factor used in the majority of high performance optical transceivers.
The most common use for 12 fiber Plenum MPO breakout cables involves the consolidation of six duplex LC transceivers to a single MPO connector. This method eliminates the unnecessary bulk, clutter, and cost often associated with running multiple individual LC fiber patch cables. These 12 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout cables incorporate a non-conductive and fire-retardant material specifically developed for use in a buildings internal infrastructure.
All 12 fiber MPO cables feature OptoSpan’s new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.
