12 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables
12 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables are constructed using a higher performing MTP connector developed by US Conec. Each MTP Elite connector reduces insertion loss by up to 50% when compared to standard MTP, or up to 75% compared to MPO connectors. A reduction in insertion loss allows network architects to design a solution with additional cable patching and enables the deployment of additional devices such as Fiber Cassettes or Fiber Breakout Cables without negatively impacting performance. 12 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables also feature an alternative jacketing specially developed to reduce the amount of smoke and the spread of flames in the event of combustion.
All 12 fiber MTP Elite cables feature OptoSpan’s new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.
The most common application for 12 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables includes establishing a single 40G (40GBASE-SR4) link using a QSFP+ to QSFP+ connection. Alternative applications include transporting individual 10G signals through a single assembly, thus allowing a reduction in the amount of separate fiber patch cables and maintains cable clutter to an absolute minimum.
