8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables
8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables feature a higher performing MTP connector developed by US Conec. MTP Elite connectors have been carefully manufactured to meet strict tolerances which allows a reduction in insertion loss by up to half when compared to standard MTP connectors, and over half when compared to MPO connectors.
OptoSpan’s 8 fiber MTP Elite cables feature our new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.
All Plenum MTP Elite Cables feature a specialized jacket developed to drastically reduce the amount of smoke produced and slow the spread of flames in the event of a fire. Plenum-rated (OFNP) fiber cables are therefore able to be installed in often restricted areas, such as the spaces in between the floors, ceilings and walls. These locations are commonly used to transport conditioned air into inhabited areas and may pose a significant safety risk if populated with standard cabling.
8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Cables are available in a single configuration with all 8 fibers contained within a single connector. The most common application for 8 Fiber Plenum MTP Cables includes establishing a 40G (40GBASE-SR4) link between a set of QSFP+ transceivers. A popular alternative application includes stacking individual 10G signals and transferring the data across a single assembly for distribution at a later point.
