8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Breakout Cables
8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Breakout Cables utilize a special fire-retardant material developed to slow the spread of flames and production of smoke in the event of combustion. Since networking cables are often installed through the Plenum areas of a building, such as the spaces in between floors, ceilings, and walls, it is imperative to ensure the material does not pose a safety hazard. In addition, building safety regulations often require Plenum-rated cabling to be installed in these critical areas to minimize damage in the event of a fire.
OptoSpan’s 8 fiber Plenum MTP Elite Breakout cables feature our new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.
8 Fiber Plenum MTP Elite Breakout Cables use a higher performing MTP connector, fully compatible with MPO devices and cables. The MTP Elite connector is able to reduce the amount of insertion loss when mating devices by up to half when compared to standard MTP connectors, and greater than half when compared to traditional MPO connectors. The reduction in insertion loss allows a network to increase the amount of connection points, allowing for a much more robust solution without compromising performance.
