12 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout

12 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables

MTP FiberShield Specifications

MTP Elite Breakout Cables feature a higher performing MTP connector designed for meeting strict manufacturing tolerances. Each MTP Elite connector reduces the amount of insertion loss by up to half when compared to standard MTP connectors, and even further when compared to traditional MPO connectors. A reduction in insertion loss allows a network to host a greater quantity of connection points, enabling administrators to further expand their networks capabilities without suffering performance loss.

12 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables feature an OptoSpan exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable. The additional PVC material and DuPont Kevlar increases damage resistance by up to 5x when compared to traditional fiber cables.

12 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables are most commonly used to establish 10G and 40G links between networking devices. Alternative uses include converting between 10G and 40G signals when connected to properly configured devices, such as a QSFP+ to SFP connection. Additional conversions are also possible, including 1G transmission rates.
