SteelPatch Armored MPO Fiber Cables feature a specialized jacketing developed for deployment in hazardous environments. SteelPatch armor is constructed from military grade steel which is then molded into a helical shape in order to shield the internal fibers. This process allows SteelPatch armor to increase cable strength by 7x while remaining fully flexible and lightweight. SteelPatch Armored MPO Fiber Cables reduce the possibility of breakage during installation, protect against damage from pests, and provide a ruggedized solution for construction sites and other industrial areas.
SteelPatch Armored MPO Fiber Cables utilize the world’s most economical high density connector, the MPO connector. Originally developed in order to ease the burden of splicing high amounts of fibers, the MPO connector has since become the standard when creating high performance networks. The MPO connector is used in popular optical transceivers including the QSFP+, QSFP28, CPAK, CXP, and CFP transceivers. This economical connector has allowed 40G (40GBASE-SR4), 100G (100GBASE-SR10 & 100GBASE-SR10), and high transmission rates to be cost-effective by distributing the signals across four to twelve fibers.
