Armored Bulk Fiber Spools by OptoSpan incorporate a rugged steel armor, and allow the deployment of high performance optical fiber in previously uninhabitable areas. SteelPatch Armor is constructed from military grade steel, which is then formed into a protective conduit, resulting in a fiber cable up to 7x stronger than ordinary patch cables. Armored bulk fiber spools are available in Single-mode (OS2) or Multimode (OM1, OM2, OM3, or OM4) fiber specifications as well as fiber counts ranging from 1 to 144 fibers. Available bulk fiber spool lengths include 300, 500, and 1000 meters. Standard Riser (OFNR) and fire-retardant Plenum (OFNP) rated insulation is available.
