96 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout Cables

96 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout Cables are most commonly used in the consolidation of numerous LC fiber patch cables into a single MPO harness. This method reduces the overall cost, bulk, and clutter often associated with large quantities of individual fiber patch cables. 96 fiber Plenum MPO breakout cables may also be used in the aggregation of 10G SFP+ to 40G or 100G links.

96 Fiber Plenum MPO Breakout Cables feature a non-conductive and fire-retardant insulation developed for use in critical Plenum areas. Primarily used to transport conditioned air, the Plenum areas of a building consist of the spaces in between walls, floors, and ceilings. Plenum areas are also commonly used to host network cables and may pose a safety issue if populated with standard cabling, due to their production of toxic smoke during combustion. Building safety regulations therefore require all cabling installed in these sensitive areas to be Plenum (OFNP) rated, which reduces the amount of smoke and production of flames in the event of a fire.
