96 Fiber MPO Cables

96 Fiber MPO Cables

96 Fiber MPO Cables are most commonly used as backend fiber trunk cables. Their harness style construction reduces the amount of individual multifiber assemblies, and elevates associated clutter and cost. These Cables are able to reconsolidate large quantities of fiber strands without dozens of individual connectors, preserving the performance of the network, while paving the way for higher transfer rates. Alternative applications include establishing 40G (40GBASE-SR4) and 100G (100GBASE-SR10) links directly in between transceivers, such as a QSFP+ to QSFP+ or CXP to CXP connection.

96 Fiber MPO Cables are available in two popular configurations, including eight 24 fiber MPO connectors, or sixteen 12 fiber MPO connectors. The 12 fiber MPO connector is the most popular version due to its use in common network devices, such as the QSFP+ transceiver designed for 40G communication rates but require more expensive hardware in order to reach 100G rates. The 24 fiber MPO connector, on the other hand, is able to achieve over 100G rates when connected to CXP transceivers by providing 12 duplex lanes for 10G communication.
