8 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout

8 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables

MTP FiberShield Specifications

8 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables make use of an even higher performing MTP connector. Each unit has been carefully selected meet strict manufacturing tolerances. MTP Elite connectors are therefore able to reduce the amount of insertion loss by up to half when compared to standard MTP units, and over half when compared to traditional MPO connectors. A reduction in insertion loss allows networking architects to design more capable networks by introducing additional patch cables and other fiber devices without reducing network performance.

OptoSpan’s 8 fiber MTP Elite Breakout cables feature our new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.

Common uses for 8 Fiber MTP Elite Breakout Cables include converting 40G signals into more manageable 1G or 10G rates. When connected to properly configured equipment, it is also possible to stack signals from multiple LC transceivers and transport data over a single trunk cable, into MPO or MTP compatible equipment.
