144 Fiber MPO Cables

144 Fiber MPO Cables are most often used in the consolidation of cabling infrastructure originally intended for 10G transfer rates. The harness style construction of high density MPO cables allows for the reduction of individual assemblies while retaining the versatility of connecting to 12 fiber and 24 fiber transceivers. Alternative applications include establishing direct 40G, 100G, or 120G links through a QSFP+ to QSFP+ or CXP to CXP connection.

144 Fiber MPO Cables are available in two convenient configurations, including twelve 12 fiber connectors, or six 24 fiber connectors. The 12 fiber connector is currently the most popular density, due to being available in most mid-range transceivers and assorted fiber devices such as fiber cassettes. Each 12 fiber connector introduces less insertion loss when compared to the 24 fiber version and is able to transport a single 40G (40GBASE-SR4) signal. The 24 fiber connector is considered a better option in ‘future-proofing’ networks, as each unit is able to deliver up to three individual 40G signals, a 100G (100GBASE-SR10), or even a 120G signal when connected to CXP transceivers.
