24 Fiber MTP Elite Cables

MTP FiberShield Specifications

24 Fiber MTP Elite Cables are capable of carrying twelve 10G signals, three 40G signals, a single 100G signal, or a combination of transmission rates when paired with properly configured networking hardware. This allows 24 Fiber MTP Elite Cables to be a more cost effective alternative to 8 or 12 fiber cables; allowing a system administrator to maximize networking investment without having to redesign their backend network when migrating from 10G speeds to 40G or 100G technologies in the future. The most common application for a 24 Fiber MTP Elite Cable is transferring a single 100G (CPAK-100G-SR10 or CPAK 10x10G0LR) signal using a CPAK to CPAK connection. Additional applications include CFP2 and CXP links with support for 100GBASE-SR10, CXP-100G-SR10, and CXP-100G-SR12 signals.

All 24 fiber MTP Elite cables feature OptoSpan’s new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.

All OptoSpan 24 Fiber MTP Elite Cables feature a high performing MTP Elite connector developed by US Conec, which is similar in appearance to the MTP connector, but holds the ability to reduce the insertion loss by up to half. Each 24 Fiber MTP Elite Cable may be constructed with a single 24 fiber MTP connector, or two separate 12 fiber connectors.
