MTP FiberShield Specifications

All OptoSpan 12 Fiber MTP Cables feature our new and exclusive FiberShield technology that uses triple the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate internal optical fibers, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.

Constructed with high performance MPO connectors known as MTP fiber connectors, each MTP® Cable reduces insertion loss, prevents device wear and tear, and maintains a secure physical connection, keeping your system operating at maximum efficiency and reliability.

12 Fiber MTP Cables are most commonly used to establish high performance 10G, 40G, or 100G connections throughout a network. They are also often used to create links between two optical transceivers, such as QSFP+ to QSFP+ for 10G/40G, or QSFP100 to QSFP100 for 100G. These MTP cables may also be used to establish fiber panel to fiber panel trunk connections. Applications for these 12 fiber MTP cables include 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR4 when using multimode fiber (OM3/OM4), or QSFP+ parallel MR4 - 40G-IR4-PSM and QSFP+ parallel LR4 - 40GBASE-PLR4 for single-mode (OS2) fiber. These high-performance cables are available in pinned (male) or non-pinned (female) configurations along with mixed genders upon request
