12 Fiber Plenum MPO Cables
12 fiber Plenum MPO cables utilize the industry’s first and most economical multifiber delivery system, the MPO connector. The increase in demand for high performance communications has brought upon 40G (40GBASE-SR4) and 100G (100GBASE-SR4) networking speeds which require more fibers than duplex fiber patch cables offer.
The MPO connector is able to hold high quantities of optical fibers in a single unit and has since become the standard form factor in high performance transceivers and high density fiber patch panels. 12 fiber Plenum MPO cables feature a non-conductive fire-retardant insulation as well as zero metallic components, meant specifically for use in Plenum areas such as between floors, ceilings, and walls which are also used for transporting conditioned air into inhabited rooms.
All 12 fiber MPO cables feature OptoSpan’s new and exclusive FiberShield design. The FiberShield design uses three times the PVC jacket and DuPont Kevlar to protect the delicate optical fibers located inside the cables, resulting in a flexible yet robust 4.5mm cable that is 5x stronger than the standard 3.0mm cable.
